The Buffalo News continues to evolve as technology disrupts the newspaper industry and presents new challenges for Western New York's largest news organization. Hear how national trends are affecting your hometown paper, what new initiatives the company has undertaken to adapt in the digital age, and how it'll all impact you, both as a reader and a communications practitioner.

Brian Connolly
Vice President of Innovation and Business Development
The Buffalo News

Since April 2018, Brian Connolly has been in charge of business development and innovation at The Buffalo News, where he also serves as publisher of its six community newspapers. He is in charge of The Buffalo News' digital subscription strategy and development of the company's portfolio of agency services. He oversees content for Buffalo Magazine and The Buffalo News' marketing publications. As publisher of community newspapers, he leads The Hamburg Sun, The Tonawanda Sun, the Arcade Pennysaver & News, the Cuba/Franklinville Pennysaver & News, the Springville/Ellicottville Pennysaver & News and the Gowanda/Angola Pennysaver & News. Connolly started at The Buffalo News in 2003. From April 2011 through April 2018, he was The Buffalo News' managing editor, overseeing all day-to-day operations of the newsroom.

Note: Registration opens at 7:45 a.m. A light continental breakfast is provided. The presentation runs from 8 to 9 a.m., with time for Q&A and networking at the end.

Parking: The 2018 Sunrise Seminar Series is hosted at AAA Western & Central New York. Free on-site parking is available. Park behind the building (not the Sheridan Drive side), enter through the glass atrium and follow signs downstairs to the East Auditorium.
