Each year, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Buffalo Niagara Chapter celebrates the programs, projects and people that strengthen and sharpen the communications profession at the Excalibur Awards.
The Excalibur Awards recognize outstanding work from Western New York’s leading communications professionals, agencies, nonprofits, educational institutions and businesses across a wide range of public relations, marketing and communications disciplines.
Submissions for all 2026 Excalibur Awards are now being accepted.

About the Awards
The Excalibur Awards honor excellence in both strategic communications campaigns and tactical execution. Entries are evaluated by communications professionals from PRSA chapters outside the Buffalo Niagara region to ensure a fair and impartial judging process.
Submissions are judged on criteria including:
- Research and planning
- Creativity and innovation
- Strategic execution
- Measurable results and impact
- Quality of writing and design
- Alignment with organizational goals
Awards are presented at the Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze levels based on scoring. Judges may also recognize entries that demonstrate exceptional creativity, measurable outcomes or community impact.

Campaign and Tactic Categories
Campaign awards recognize comprehensive communications initiatives that may include multiple tactics and channels working together toward a strategic objective. Tactics category awards recognize excellence in individual communications components or deliverables.
