1. Where did you go to college and what was your degree? Buffalo State College, Communications

2. Hong long have you been a member of PRSA? 5 years

3. Why did you join PRSA? Networking, keeping up with current trends, educational programming

4. What is your PRSA Board position? What do you enjoy the most or what have you learned in your role? Director at Large

I enjoy being able to contribute strategic and creative solutions for how to continue moving the chapter forward by providing education, networking and professional development opportunities for myself and other public relations practitioners.

 5. What do you wish you’d known when you started in PR? That you really do need to be good at math! It’s about proving the value and measuring the impact.

6. What’s the best part of your job? Every day is different. I love the diversity of the work that I do and the people that I interact with. There is not one day in 15 years that I didn’t go home and think we made a difference to someone today.


7. What’s the toughest lesson you’ve learned on the job? Don’t jump the gun and react immediately. Stop. Take a breath. Assess the situation. Discuss with trusted colleagues. Then respond.

 8. What do you (or would you) tell local college students majoring in public relations or young professionals who may seek career advice from you? Do lots of internships!  Do what you love. Your passion will guide you. 

 9. What’s your favorite activity or place to go in Western New York?

My favorite activity to do in Western New York is to go tubing with my three boys at Colden Tubing. 

10. If you could ghostwrite a major speech for any person, living or dead, who would it be and why?  First Lady, Michelle Obama.  I think she has a greater hand in the decisions that are made in running this country than most people realize. I think she is a great role model for all women.
